

Newton worked as a Supervisor of Overlay at the Rio2016 Olympic and Paralympic Athletes Village.
Including 31 accommodation buildings and an overlay area with more than 45 tents (approx. 505,900 sq ft footprint), 70 toilets cabins, a 1.5 mi "heras fence", temporary water, sewage and energy system, chemical toilets, Scaffoldings, Sea containers, Modular buildings, etc.
The Athletes Village housed 18,000 people (athletes, coaches, and technical staff) during the Olympic Games and 7,000 during the Paralympics.
The main Catering area prepared over 60,000 meals daily during the Olympics and it was one of the world´s largest temporary structures at the time (266,000 sq ft footprint).
Secondary role included providing wellness provisions, H&S coordination, and Interior
Build Out + Civil Works for the accommodation buildings. Shifted to a Site
Manager role during game operations.
